Overview:
By the end of 2021, the LATAM and Caribbean region is expected to have 20-25 5G network operators. This is almost a three-fold rise over the networks launched in 2020. For 2021, we expect more 5G smartphones to be sold in the region than 5G subscriptions. But in the next few years, this trend will reverse.
This report has two sections. The first one analyses the current status and likely future developments related to frequency auction, bands involved and network rollout in key countries including Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Chile and Peru. The second section covers the smartphone TAM forecast and the OEMs likely to lead 5G sales. The 5G smartphone and CPE market in the region is expected to reach 85 million units in 2025.
