Overview:

The latest research from Counterpoint’s IoT service reveals that the global smartwatch shipments grew 28% YoY in 2019. Apple was leading this segment and grew 35% YoY in 2019. The health/fitness factor, along with features like ECG monitoring and fall detection on the Apple Watch models, have played a key role in driving the consumer decision-making process for adoption of smartwatches. Moreover, the launch of premium subscription services will give users the full utilization of data generated by the smartwatches.
