Although a quieter period for 5G RAN product launches, the third quarter of 2021 was nevertheless a busy time with a steady stream of news throughout the period. Highlights included several announcements from Rakuten, including the launch of its Symphony telco platform and its first vendor win, plus plans by several MNOs to deploy commercial cloud RAN infrastructure.
