India Monthly Smartphone Market Analysis 2020 November

Jan 1, 2021 |

Overview:

The Indian smartphone market grew 11% YoY in November 2020. Diwali was on 14th November and it marked the end of the festive season. However, the shipments decline as the festive season ended post-Diwali. Going forward, we believe that the Indian smartphone market will decline by 6% in 2020 to reach 148 million units.

However, on the manufacturing front, the manufacturing output has declined due to shortages of components as well as a decline in local demand following the festive season for almost all the OEMs. Some of the PLI approved companies have told the government they won’t be able to meet their manufacturing targets before the March-end deadline under the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme.
